Carrie Thomas PA-C
Physician Associate/ Owner
Many of you know Carrie Thomas from her 8 years of practicing medicine in and around the Hampstead, NC community. We have some exciting news to share!

Carrie Thomas PA-C has opened her own practice as of March 10th, 2020. Coastal Carolina Care is located in the Realo Discount Drugs shopping center next to Dunkin Donuts and Subway.
​
We have just completed brand new construction in our office and are up-fitted to see anyone needing Urgent Care visits or just a routine checkup.
​
In addition to Family Medicine and Urgent Care, Carrie Thomas is an expert at Weight Loss consultations and education. With her professional training in Nutrition, Exercise Science, and Physician Assistant Studies, she has customized plans that will fit you where you are in your health journey.

Andrea Maggard
Family Nurse Practitioner
Andrea Maggard, FNP-BC is a graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene University where she obtained a B.A in Psychology. She then went on to complete her masters from The Ohio State University and has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2005. Since then, she has practiced in Urgent Care, Primary Care, Inpatient Care and Occupational Healthcare. She is passionate about providing healthcare to those in need and making healthcare accessible for everyone.

Since a young age, Andrea has always had a dream of living in North Carolina near the ocean. In 2018, that dream finally came true. Andrea and her husband (Nick) and 4 kiddos moved to Hampstead! Now in this gorgeous area of North Carolina, she enjoys going to local family events, boating, tubing with the kiddos, chilling beachside, kayaking, and volleyball.

No stranger to hard work and competition, Andrea competed in collegiate level volleyball for 4 years and served as Team Captain her senior year. Andrea continues to display this in her profession and served as Clinic Manager at her previous employer of 10 years.
Andrea's dedication to her family, employer, and community shows in her extensive patient following. Andrea is a delight to all patients with her contagious smile and gentle spirit. We absolutely adore her and we know you will too!
Erin Whaling
Physician Assistant
Erin Whaling is our latest addition here at Coastal Carolina Care. She graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University with a B.S. in Athletic Training. She then went on to attend East Carolina Physician Assistant Studies program. With extensive experience in sports medicine and orthopedics, Erin works diligently to make sure her patients are feeling their best.
Erin is a Midwest transplant who has made North Carolina her home. She has no regrets about ditching the ice and snow for sunny days at the beach with her husband and two children. Erin has a love for animals and horseback riding. She enjoys cooking and hosting game nights for family and friends.

Erin has traveled all over the world while previously working with Varsity Spirit Inc. Disney World, London, and India are some of her favorite travel destinations.
A former competitive gymnast, Erin loves a challenge. She brings this determined mindset and attention to detail to every patient encounter. She can’t wait to be a part of your healthcare team.

Hi! I am Crystal Dwyer, the Patient Care Coordinator at Coastal Carolina Care.
I have had the joy and privilege of working with Carrie for 5 years. I am so excited to be with her here at Coastal Carolina Care.
The absolute best part of my job is getting to know our patients and their families. The Hampstead community is amazing.
If you are new to the practice, my goal is to give you a stress-free experience and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I am here to help!
I have always loved the medical field. With 18+ years in health and wellness, I have found that this is my true passion.
Originally from Buffalo, NY I call this my home with my husband Mike and our two kids. We love to take advantage of all the beautiful parks and beaches. This area is truly one of a kind.
